"TO IMPROVE AND EMPOWER LIFE AFTER INJURY THROUGH EDUCATION AND RECREATION."The Next Step helps people with disabilities acclimate back into life after a traumatic injury or a lifelong disability. First by educating the individual and their families and or spouse about what life may be like post injury. Then introduce them to different activities such as kayaking at various locations and indoor target practice. These are two activities we do on a monthly basis. The kayaking is done weather permitting. In the near future we plan to introduce jet skiing, scuba and an archery program. We take our educating further and speak to upcoming physical and occupational therapists still in school along with caregivers,nurses and anyone interested in knowing more about life with a disability.
