The Asombro Institute for Science Education (home of the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Park) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving scientific literacy by fostering an understanding of the Chihuahuan Desert. To achieve this mission, we currently serve more than 13,000 K-12 students in southern New Mexico and west Texas each year with hands-on, inquiry-based science Educational Programs. These programs are designed to increase understanding of desert ecosystems and promote the application of critical thinking skills to local and global environmental issues.
