Cause Description:
Companion Animal Rescue of Ascension (C.A.R.A.)is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to rescuing homeless, abandoned, and neglected animals in Louisiana. C.A.R.A. has no paid staff and is operated entirely by dedicated volunteers. We rescue animals in need from area shelters and communities. In addition, we maintain and care for adoptable cats and kittens in the Gonzales PetSmart Luv-A-Pet Adoption Center. We do not have a shelter or a physical location and rely solely on foster care for animals prior to adoption. All of our adoptions include complete medical examination, treatment of pre-existing conditions, proper vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and micro-chipping of all animals. Our organization is supported by private donations, our own fundraising efforts, and minimal adoption fees. We do not receive any public funding. All donations received go directly toward saving animals.
