Please Help Save Daisy's Life!

Orange, California

Cause Description:
Daisy is a 9 week old Boxer mix that was abandoned and found on the corner of Frisbee and Acacia. She escaped being euthanized at San Bernardino County Animal Care & Control, only to be facing death again. I adopted her on Friday Aug 19th from a non-profit group outside of Petsmart in Palm Springs, being told she was now healthy. They vaccinated her for Kennel Cough, believing that was all she had. I brought her to three different veternarian clinics, and spoke with many more. She is currently being hospitalized at AAA Animal Hospital in Huntington Beach. Late last night, Aug 21st, Daisy began refusing to eat or drink. Her cough had gotten much worse, to the point where she could hardly walk. First thing this morning she was rushed to Orange Veternary Hospital, where we were told she most likely has pnemonia, but possibly Parvo. They wanted to do a bunch of tests and a chest x-ray, as well as antibiotics, oxygen therapy, a nebulizer, IV Catheter, and possibly other treatments, depending on the test results. I expressed my financial hardship, and the bare minimum they suggested, oxygen therapy, fluid sacs, and antibiotics, cost about $200. They also told me that this would be like putting a band-aid on a wound, and would not make her healthy. I had a $50 credit at All Creatures Cottage in Costa Mesa, so I brought her there, hoping the financial aspect would not be so terrible there. Well the $50 only got me an office visit, and no treatment for Daisy, only prolonging her suffering. They told me that AAA Animal Hospital is a low-cost clinic and that it would be my best bet. I have called many vet clinics and AAA did indeed seem to be the lowest cost. The people at AAA told me that Daisy was dying in my arms and that she needed to start treatment immediately or she would not make it. So immediately she was started on oxygen therapy, costing $70, without them telling me they were even charging me for anything yet. Of course, I had to leave her there immediately, and with no way to pay for her bills, signed up for a CareCredit account. I am a college student, taking 22 units. I have no job and no income. I have absolutely no clue how I am going to pay for Daisy's medical bill unless I drop out of school and try to get a job. I have no social life because I am spending all my time on my studies, and need Daisy as a companion. I understand I can get another dog, but I cannot abandon Daisy like that. This poor puppy was not taken care of at the kennel, and is incredibly skinny. Since the little time I have had her, she has gained a little bit of weight, but all her ribs are distinctly visable. She has so much mucous in her lungs that she is coughing up, as well as it coming out her nose. They think her upper respiratory system is shutting down, but with proper medical care, she can be a happy and healthy puppy very soon! Please find it in the kindness of your heart's to help this innocent little baby. Anything will help! If you have any questions feel free to contact me at 619-606-2422. Donations can be made out to me, Nicole Taylor, and 100% of it will be used to help Daisy, or donate directly to AAA Animal Hospital. The phone number is (714) 536 - 6537 and the address is 21632 Newland Street, Huntington Beach, CA 92646. My Client ID is 45595, the Estimate ID is 13564, the Patient ID is 72069 and the Patient name is obviously Daisy. Robert Beshai, DVM did the initial office visit.
